You can see from this next photo how quickly and rough I am laying down the colours, I am using a side to side pencil stroke, I will blend everything better later on. I am of course paying close attention to my values, although I am working fast I am mindful of what I am doing to avoid major mistakes that might set me back hours in erasing and adjustments. For the neck I am using Prisma cream, eggshell, ginger root, beige sienna, dark umber and burnt ochre.
For the lips I am using permanent red, crimson red and i have gone over the darker areas with the cherry black. I have also used my x-acto knife to pull out the high-lights on the lips.
